NEW YEAR

Charismatic, mysterious and full of promises, if I could put a face on the NEW YEAR, that is how I think it would be.
Handsome and with an ironed shirt....

I will hope he would bring a nice bouquet of flowers and show me some of his chivalrous manners.
And if he were nice enough I would try to keep him...At least for one year...

And when he leaves, I would remember him for all the nice things he made me feel; for the places I got to see and for the people I got to meet when he was around.

May your NEW YEAR be happy, healthy and full of accomplished dreams!

Thankful

We live, we die..We laugh, we cry. We play, we make.  We love, we fight.
We seek, we find....

We lose, we win. We miss, we thrive.
We forgive, and we forget...

Perfection is not in the human form, no matter how we try.

Some of us will go on thinking of all the things that could have been, and some of us will take a leap of faith with amazing results.

Some of us will have sad beginnings with happy endings; some of us will carry the baggage 'til the end. Some of us will let go and find a light step.

We were created with flaws and we were created with talents.  Some of us will try to hide, and some will scream really loud...

Some of us will believe with a blind faith, and some of us will not see the light even when it's blinding our eyes.

Today, I am thankful for the spoken truth, for the laugh, tears, triumph and for the mistakes.

For the sun, the wind and the rain.

For the family and for the friends.

And for all of you that made me realize that beliefs, distance and time can make us find a common place... to create!

Hope

We cannot touch it. We cannot buy it. There is no formula on how to create it. We can wish it, and we can feel it, comes sometimes when we most need it, and can leave abruptly when we let go....
A very close friend, Carmen was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer; she may not be with us to celebrate the New Year.
My words can assure her that everything will be fine, even tough I feel it may not be that way.
She has HOPE, like a blinding energy that illuminates her days. I am amazed on how happy she is and on how much strength she gives us, instead of us giving to her. Almost as if she knows that everything will be ok.
.... And sometimes, I feel that we are the ones that stopped hoping, and she just carries on...
Today, I HOPE that she keeps brightening our lives, and that her heart keeps filling ours with the same light.

Thank you
Carmen.

"Repair"

Illustration Friday "Repair"

Hello, It is very nice to know that some amazing artists are reading my blog.

I think that we all need a few words of encouragement once in a while. Many of you have inspired me to paint again, after years of having neglected that "outlet" of mine, so...

                           THANK YOU!!!

And thank you for all your kind comments that make my heart smile.

I have submitted an illustration for the "Illustration Friday" website, it took me 12 hours to figure out how to size the file to a thumbnail, and I am still not sure if I did it right, there are some great illustrators and I don't have professional training, so we will see.

I made this little chicken fixing what was once his home. I hope you like it!

AGE

Age: “Accumulation of changes in an organism or object over time” (Wikipedia)

We hear it all the time. How fast life goes.  We see the changes, some very difficult not to notice.  We see it by watching our children grow.  We see it in the way we look.  We see it pass on in pictures and we stare at them as if they were mystical windows that transport us to the past.

Some of us will age with pity, some will age with grudges, and some with grace and pride.

Time won’t stop to make us feel younger; time will go on without any considerations. Time at the end will keep on and we will become a memory or an image. Let’s live life.  Enjoy every moment of it and cherish every single second, because that second will pass and won’t come back.

Let age become a gift and not a burden. Enjoy it.  Live it.  And let time pass with…Grace!

13

I've never been someone who believes in bad luck, I believe that we live the life that we create and that we receive the same way that we give.
Even when sometimes life brings unfortunate events. We can find the strength to overcome them.

"There is no way out but trough"

Anyway, my family and I just came back from Disney, it was great, I wanted to share this STARS illustration with you.

When dreams come true

I have been visiting Disney for two days, and I feel that I am getting younger, really young...
Maybe it's the laughs with my children, the silly faces that we make when we walk, or plain and simple...just being there as a family.

Dreams come true for them when they walk trough those "magical" gates...and dreams come true for me when I see them smile.

Changing the Past

Perhaps you have thought about this question more than once: “ If you could change the past, what would you change”

My first reaction: -should I start in alphabetical order?

In reality, if we really could, for some unknown magical power should we?

 -NO

Life for many of us could have been a rocky path, with only a few smooth patches, and most of the time too painful to walk, questioning about fairness on each step…

And there was a point when clarity started to come, when all those tears, got dried by the sun, and when all of the sudden, everything had a reason to be.

Like looking at a farmers hands, seeing those dry lines. The hard work, timeless days, and in the end seeing at the harvest with beaming eyes full of pride.

Those experiences made us who we are today, stronger, wiser, patient, and more to count.

So go ahead walk tall and if you look back, be proud of what you are today.

Life is short and the path is yours. If you always take the safest passage you may miss out on some of life's beauty.

¨Hero¨

It´s been almost two weeks since I went from Mom, to Hero.I want to believe that I am still keeping my rank.

It was a Thursday, when my daughters had their first swimming class and we were allowed to see them from the stands, the class was short and they were still in the last supervised lap when Maya my youngest daughter, slipped  off the pool stand and started sinking.... I did not have a lot of time to think.  My eyes were fixed on her body going deeper and deeper. It was probably two seconds and for me it felt more like 20 minutes.
I did not wait, I dove in and when I realized, I was inside the pool (It's amazing how heavy denim jeans feel when soaked) I grabbed Maya and got out of the water, and there I was water dripping from head to toe, all eyes on me and Maya well, needless to say: saved

It's incredible how fast things can happen, and more amazing how fast that motherly instinct can come out. Daniel my son, keep staring at me with his eyes as open as his mouth. I was not sure if he was embarrassed or shocked, when he whispered something that warmed my heart so fast that all that soakedness didn't matter any more.

"You are my Hero mom"  Well, that was worth a thousand more jumps in a thousand more pools.

Lost and Found

Sometimes life makes us lose things, and sometimes people, people we used to be close with, people that broke our heart, people that just passed by.

In recent months I have found some great lost friends that I never thought on finding again, I hope life keeps bringing this forgotten treasures and I promise never to lose them again.

LOVE TO ALL MY FRIENDS!
