Detail on wood

The poplar is about 1.5 inches deep, when I cut it some wood came off on the edges, I think that added a different effect on the image when I painted the wood the color base can be seen, I used a technique that I saw on a book, spreading the color with a credit card, the bird was cut out from decorative paper, and I also used some stamps, I saw all this techniques from Kelly Rae Roberts book, "Taking a Flight" her book is very creative and inspirational.

I love the textures. Interesting technique. I would be interested to see how the credit card thing would work.
